I apologize for all the blog posts i haven't written the past few weeks, but come on, it's summer! And here is the Rolling Stones second ever B-side.

A great Blues/R&B track with only a few spoken words.

The Wild Ones • Bowie Man/Purple Pill Eater

Bowie Man: This marraccas shaking piece of greatness was made by The Wild Ones, a group i know nothing about. However, i love this song. Perhaps it was from here Davy Jones got his name?


Purple Pill Eater: The B-side is a jolly anti-drug song, and has sort of a bluebeat feel to it. Even if it's not really my thing, it's still pretty good.

Chris Farlowe & The Thunderbirds • Buzz With The Fuzz

Chris Farlowe is best known for his cover on The Stones' song 'Out Of Time'. However, his last 45 (with backing band The Thunderbirds) on Columbia, before switching to Immediate, Buzz With The Fuzz, is my personal favourite. The 45 was quickly withdrawn by Columbia when they realised the title and lyrics actually was about drugs.

Charlie Watts: 70 Years Today

So, today it's time for another Rolling Stone to become one year older. Charlie Watts, my favourite Rolling Stones member, turns 70 today.

Ron Wood, member of Faces, Rolling Stones and of course one of my favourites, The Birds, turns 64 today. So let's celebrate with some cool Birds pictures...

The Chasers • "Hey Little Girl" & "Inspiration"

Out of Romford came this solid beat/R&B group called The Chasers in the 60's. Consisted of Roger Pincott, Bobby Rio, Len Tuckey, Jack Chambers, Tony Wadlow and Lenny Butcher. Released three singles in '65, '66 and '67.
